Put a boundary
around the work.
Two small tools for the decisions that tend to get vague: how long a phrase lasts, and whether the session is ready to leave your desk.
01 / Phrase to picture
Cue timing calculator
Try a tempo and a phrase length before cutting to picture. BPM here always means quarter notes per minute, including in compound meter.
Constant tempo only. No pickups, tempo ramps, swing offsets, frame-rate conversion or reverb tails. This is a timing aid, not a guarantee of picture sync.
Work through a thirty-second cue ↗Seconds = bars × numerator × (4 ÷ denominator) × 60 ÷ BPM. Target bars may be fractional; exact duration need not make a satisfying ending.
02 / Before the handoff
A session checkpoint
A reminder of work to verify—not an automated clearance or quality score. Tick a box only after doing the corresponding check.
